Weekly Worship - Growing in Christ through the Liturgical Calendar

Dr. Mark Roberts offers this liturgical calendar to help us see how we can grow in Christ through weekly worship year after year.  By clicking on this link, you will find the above chart and from there you can enlarge it to see it better.  The church year begins with Advent and concludes with "Christ the King Sunday" before starting over again.

The advantage of weekly worship is that it helps us to be in rhythm with the life of Christ as we worship in community.  The colors of each season and the focus on different times of Jesus' life and ministry depending on each church season, help us to experience a Christ-like faith.

It appears that there is a renewed appreciation for the liturgical year, especially among younger Christians who are interested in the more ancient traditions of our faith. I also want to post this helpful liturgical calendar because for those of us who have been Christian for a long time, we can easily forget or take for granted the seasons of the church year.

Find which church season we are observing now.  Invite God to help you grow in your faith during this season.
