O God, thank you for this Trinity Sunday where we are reminded that you are not some remote deity far removed from the real world.
You are our loving and gracious Heavenly Father who became one with us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You are the one who sent us your Holy Spirit to guide, direct, and empower us along our faith journey. You are the presence of the Risen Christ in our day to day living . Thank you for the fullness, the completeness, the mystery, and the unity of your very being!
And because you are both wholly transcendent and imminently present, we are grateful that you are bigger than any problem or temptation, or evil, or challenging situation that we may face. And we’re also grateful that you are so close to us that you know what we are going to say to you even before we pray.
Hear the prayers of your people as we pray for those who are ill, those who are grieving, those who feel lost, and those who are discouraged. We continue to pray for our nation especially after the recent school shooting in Santa Fe, Texas. O God, we long for a world where children feel safe at school.
On this Memorial Day Weekend, we are especially thankful for those who have served our country in the military and who now rest from their labors. Thank you for their sacrifice on our behalf.
O God, as we begin to transition into the summer months, help us to not forget your name. Help us to remember that you are one God; Father, Son, AND Holy Spirit.
Hear us as we pray together…
