Sunday (May 4) Pastoral Prayer

May 4, 2025
Beulah UMC & Oak Grove UMC

Risen Christ, in this Easter Season, teach us what it means to be your living mirrors.

When we look in the mirror, help us to not only see our beautiful faces, but also see that we have been created in your image.

When we hold a mirror, remind us to tilt it upward and reflect your glory back onto you through our offering of worship and praise.

And as we go throughout our week, may we take that same mirror and angle it outwardly so that others may see your glorious image in the way that we serve and live out our faith.

Teach us what it means to be your living mirrors

As your living mirrors, we pray for the many people on our church’s prayer list as well as others who are on our hearts and minds this day.

For those who are in need of reassurance, remind them that they have been created in your image, and that nothing can ever separate them from your love for them.

For those who are in need of healing and hope, may they receive an overflowing supply of blessings and resources.

And for those who have experienced an answer to prayer, may they remember to to tilt their mirrors upward to heaven and give you all the praise, honor and glory.

Even now, we tilt our mirrors toward you as we pray the prayer that you taught us to say together…

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
