SECOND SUNDAY IN LENT – MARCH 4 (Mark 8:31-38)
O Lord, how many times do we say, “That is my cross to
bear?” Yet, inconveniences, aches and
pains, poor relationships are hardly the same as bearing a cross. Give us the courage this year to bear your
cross– to the refugee camps, to the deathbeds, to the violent neighborhoods, to
the dens of sex trafficking, to the halls of Congress. Break through our resolve that we might
resolve to bear the cross to our death.
And, Lord, make us grateful to do so.
