Beulah UMC & Oak Grove UMC
Loving God, thank you for this moment in which we are intentionally turning our eyes upon Jesus.
Thank you for those mentors and spiritual guides in our lives who have helped us to turn our eyes upon Jesus. Help us to be a spiritual guide to each other so that together, we can each grow in our faith.
Thank you for reminding us to pray and pursue a godly life in which we seek righteousness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness.
Thank you for those burning embers of your grace and love in our hearts that simply need to be stirred from time to time so that we can experience a rekindling of our faith.
And thank you for this time in worship and for moments throughout the week, where you remind us to turn our eyes upon Jesus who lived, died, and rose again for our sake.
During this time of prayer, O God, we lift up to you our intercessory prayers for the many people on our church’s prayer list as well as others who are on our hearts and minds this day. We pray that your healing, guiding, protecting, and reassuring presence would surround each of these persons in whatever joys or concerns they may be facing. We pray for the remaining Israeli hostages who are expected to be released today as well as for the people of Gaza as they begin to receive supplies of much needed food and medical care.
And dear God, we also offer to you our personal prayer of supplications. In this time of silence, we pray for our own needs that we bring to you today. [PAUSE]
Thank you for your many blessings in our lives and for these letters from Paul to Timothy which help us to be the church you are calling us to be.
We pray this in the name of Jesus who taught us to pray…
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
