Recognizing Our Veterans this Sunday, November 11

Dear Friends,

Recently, a soldier who is serving in Afghanistan said in an interview that he feels our country has forgotten about those who are serving in the armed services. Sadly, I think he’s right.

During a long and drawn out war, we forget about the sacrifice that so many people are making. As of early October, there have been 2,134 American military fatalities since 2001 when Operation Enduring Freedom began. From Ohio, 425 have been wounded and 81 killed serving in this war.

Veterans’ Day falls on a Sunday this year. For both of our worship services, we will recognize those who have served in the armed services. We will also offer our prayers for those who are serving in harm’s way.

This Sunday, November 11th, join me in thanking those who have served and who are serving our country. Together, let us worship the One who sent Jesus and sacrificed everything for a broken and hurting world.

With gratitude,

Pastor Robert
