Understanding Gospel Variations

In the past several years, skeptics point at variations of the same biblical story in different gospel accounts to debunk the historical reliability of the scriptures.  New Testament scholar, Dr. Ben Witherington offers this brief video on understanding Gospel variations.  For example, "Why do the gospel writers have the centurion at the cross say different things in referring to Jesus?"  Does this mean that the Gospels are not historically reliable documents?  Dr. Witherington simply points out what secular ancient historians already know.
