January 11, 2026 (Baptism of the Lord Sunday)
Beulah UMC & Oak Grove UMC
Lord Jesus, thank you for this opportunity to renew our baptism and to let go of our white-knuckled grip and all that would keep us from living out your mission here on earth. And so, we surrender all, all that would keep us from fully committing to you.
Teach us what it means to let go of our fears, our prejudices, our assumptions, and our agendas. Teach us to let go of our pride, our selfishness, and our stubborn ways. And teach us what things that we should hold onto, your mission, your purpose, your calling, and what you want to do in and through each one of us.
Lord, we surrender all to you as we come to you in this time of prayer. Together, we lift up to you all who are on our hearts and minds this day, those on our prayer list, those who are in need of healing, and those who are in need of your guidance and comfort.
And like our prayer hymn says so beautifully, we surrender all so that we can feel your sacred flame and the joy of full salvation. Thank you for the blessing it is to surrender all to you and to join together in praying this prayer that you taught us to say together….
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
