A Prayer in Response to the Tucson, Arizona Shooting

God, our refuge and our fortress, we tremble in the present moment: Our strength has gone; we look for light but find darkness; we are undone. Gather us under your wings and fulfill your promise to be with us in trouble.

Offer your healing presence to those who are injured. Comfort those who mourn the loss of loved ones. Bring those who committed such a terrible crime to justice. Show us your salvation as we put our trust in you, through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ:

Tucson, AZ, is my hometown. It is not spelled "Tuscon," as your website spells it in big bold letters.

Thank you for your prayers on behalf of my friends and family back home in Tucson!
